Grapes Grown:

Micheal Croom

Practicing Organic

Gewurztraminer, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris

Micheal Croom was bitten by the wine bug while pursuing a career as a professional chef, making in roads after graduating from CIA in cellars across California. In 2014 the Crooms worked a grueling rain filled harvest in New Zealand before making thier way back to the California. Micheal's passion only grew as he worked in wine-centric restaurants like Sotto and bottle shops like Esters and Bar and Garden in LA. This exposure to producers from all over the world who were focusing on minimal-intervention techniques was the shaping of his ethos as a winemaker. The Crooms made the move to Portland and launched Open Face Wines at Southeast Wine Collective in 2019, 'Open Face' a nod to his love for motorcycles and a full throttle approach to wine making.
