Maysara

Started in 1997, Maysara was the vision of Moe and Flora Momtazi. Post an escape from post revolutionary Iran they purchased a 532 acre abandoned wheat farm with the foresight that the fallow land would become one of the most important vineyards in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. Organic farming from the inception and certified Biodynamic in 2007, a holistic approach to farming has been at the center of the viticulture since day one. Planting began in 1998 with 13 acres of own rooted Pinot noir and has grown over the years to now include 342 acres under vine with the rest left to old growth Oregon oak, animal pasture and herbal gardens for biodynamic treatments.

Winemaking is led by their eldest daughter Tahmiene, who when she took over the reins in 2007 was the youngest female winemaker in the US. Today she crafts wines built to last that pay homage to the power and finesse of the estate.

It’s a full family affair with Naseem the middle daughter leading national sales and Hanna the youngest leading event planning and hospitality at the 40,000 square foot estate.
