Wildmakers

Wildmakers is the partnership of two of Chile's premier vignerons: Luca Hodginkson and Jose Miguel Sotomayor. Luca Hodgkinson is a British native who grew up in Catalonia, studied winemaking in Bordeaux, and spent the next decade unlearning the invasive techniques he was taught in school. He went to work a season in Chile where he met the woman who is now his wife and built his family there. Jose Miguel came up through the ranks of Maule Valley producers and has become recognized as one of the best minds of the region. Together they sought to make wines that are a pure, untamed expression of the places they come from: vineyards that are wild, feral, and have become one with the landscape. They work with old vine vineyards through Itata and Maule Valleys from varietals brought over by the original missionaries; expressing a truer since of identity for Chilean viticulture.
